about me:

Magda Virginia Rodriguez is a doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant in the Department of Hispanic Studies at Texas A&M University. She previously studied at Abilene Christian University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish along with a certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. She has experience teaching both English and Spanish as a second language. Her research interests focus on the literature of bilingual Hispanic authors in the United States, while her broader interests include Latino/a/x literature, Chicano/a/x literature pertaining to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and Latin American literature of the twentieth century. She has given several conference presentations regarding Latino/a/x literature. Magda is also interested in creative writing and has been published in both languages.

Her most resent conference presentation was  “Rolando Hinojosa’s Sense of Place through Language Choice in Korean Love Songs,
Becky and Her Friends, and We Happy Few”
at Southwest Council of Latin American Studies
(SCOLAS) in 8 April 2023.
A creative piece entitled, "My Curls and I," will be published this Spring in MALCS journal.
